Positives: Very nice painting as a gift. Fun and cute for people who love Totoro. The painting set comes with a rolled up canvas, a smaller reference picture, mini paint pots with number and brushes. All you need is a glass of water for the brushes. The template image of Totoro and friends is gorgeous. The painting canvas itself comes in outlines of the scene with numbers in the center. You just match the number on the section on canvas to the paint pot number.
Negatives: The picture that is posted on Amazon is a little misleading because it looks 3D but it is just image on flat convas that is shipped rolled up. You have to buy the frame. The written description is accurate though. Secondly, while painting the picture, the number on the canvas that correlates with the gray part of Totoro’s body matched up to a green color in the paint pots sent. There was no grey color in the paint kit. So, Totoro’s grey body ( that is seen in the reference picture provided in the kit) ends up being green?? Luckily, using the paint colors that were given, an appropriate shade of grey was mixed by using different colors. Hence the 4 stars. How can a Totoro painting have a green Totoro?
Bottom line: Hours of fun for anyone. Gorgeous painting. Worth the price. Does take a while to ship- be patient (the shipment arrived ahead of the shipping deadline). Also be prepared to not be able to track your shipment. You just know that your order is shipped and then when your order arrives at your doorstep. Finally be wary of mismatched colors.

I purchased this product to stretch fabric instead of canvas for wall hangings. I made a mistake in the delivery address and the company went the extra mile to correct the problem and get the product to me quickly. I assembled the frame before stretching the fabric across it and used a staple gun instead of the adhesive strips to secure the fabric. It worked very well. The frames are well made with braces in each corner to stabilize the frame. The wood is sturdy, yet soft enough to take the staples. I’m totally satisfied with the result.

I loved the peony painting so I was really anxious to do the Yellow Roses. What I got was nothing like the picture. Instead of gray the background is browns, which would be fine except it is just full of different colored lines that don’t make any sense at all. The yellow paints are actually the most garish and ugly golds. I’m sending this one right back. It is horrible.
I am loving this painting. The directions say to paint one color at a time but I prefer going section by section in case I want to shade some areas. I strictly painted this one just like the numbers and did not shade any areas together. I gave it 4 stars because some colors need two coats. Be sure to go slowly in blackish areas or when it dries you will see little white specks where the paint didn’t get into the canvas. This is only my 3rd paint by number so I have a lot to learn but I’m happy with what I have done.

Frame was thicker than I’d hoped. Didn’t have enough canvas to wrap around the frame like it should have been. Took an extra set of hands to ‘roll’ the frame and secure it. Nice quality frame. Super sticky tape..

Flower,The only tricky part for me was mounting the canvas before I started. I had to find the right size stretcher bars (cheap and readily available online) and wrestle with the canvas and a staple gun. But it was worth the trouble, and much cheaper than getting it done by a professional.

I’ve bought lots of kits and this one by far has been the most user friendly. Although it didn’t come with a frame, it came with a sticker and a paper copy of what you’re going to be painting. The brushes are bad either. There was plenty of paint and I was surprised that I had a bit left over. I first bought this for my 10 yr old and they felt it was too complicated so I ended up doing it myself. Which I wanted to do tbh.

Colors. Funky dimensions,Great colors but two problems. The canvas was rolled around a foam tube for delivery. The tube bent and flexed during delivery so I never could get it flat. Then when I finished it and took it into my framer, she measured it and the dimensions are .75 inch shorter on one side than the other. Dont know how good a job she can do stretching it.

This is a fantastic painting! I love the bright colors and the look of a real painting. I am almost done painting it, and I’m kinda sad that it will be over because it is so much fun to paint. One issue: some of the light colors are not covering the numbers and need to be covered over a couple of times. (yellow, oranges and pinks)

I really like these brushes for detail painting. They work great with acrylic paints. Also work nice to paint 3D prints made of PLA. They come in a nice plastic tube that I was able to add my other brushes to keep them nice as well. Super happy with these brushes and great price for the quality. Great for beginners and intermediate painters.
